Hurricane Sandy Impacts AAK New Jersey Plant

AAKs plant in Port Newark has been temporarily shut down since Monday due to the Hurricane Sandy. As a result of the severe weather conditions the plant has no supply of electricity and parts of the plant are flooded. No employees have been injured.

AAKs initial assessment is that there is no major damage to the plant however production needs to be closed for a short period in order to restore the site. The company is working to limit the effects of the standstil and to resume full production
