CSI Sainsbury would solve food scientist gap: DEFRA

New Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) minister David Heath said he wished there was a hit TV show calledCSI Sainsbury to tempt scientists away from forensics and into the food industry.

While programmes such as CSI Miami have led to a glut of forensic science graduates chasing very few jobs, he said there was a gaping skills shortage in the food and drink manufacturing sectors.
