EPA increases ammonia level

In a final rule published last month, the EPA increased the allowable concentration of Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium in carbonate and bicarbonate forms, from 240 parts per million to 400 ppm.

DDACB can be used on food contact surfaces when applied or used in public eating places, dairy processing equipment, and/or food processing equipment and utensils.

Objections and requests for hearings must be received on or before 22 October.
