330,000 tonnes of milk, worth more than 150 million, are wasted in the UK each year according to a new report from WRAP highlighting milk waste across the food chain.
Responsible for almost 90% of milk waste with 290,000 tonnes thrown away each year, milk waste in the home is by far and away the largest contributor.
Milk waste is also rampant in the supply chain thanks to breakages and leaks during transport and in retail outlets.
