Bird flu outbreak in Mexico hits 582,000 chickens

An estimated 582,000 chicken across seven farms have been affected by the bird flu virus outbreak in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico.

The virus was confirmed after security laboratory technicians of high security laboratory of the National Health, Safety and Quality (SENASICA) identified the presence of bird flu virus at the seven farms belonging to Industrias Bachoco, Mexico's leading chicken producer.
