Wine, spirits exports from France up 10% in 2012

French wine and spirits exports were up by 10% in 2012 compared to the prior year, according to the Fdration des Exportateurs de Vins et Spiritueux de France (FEVS).

In value terms, wine and spirits exports from France reached a record 11bn ($14.73bn) during the reporting period.

Cognac, Bordeaux and Champagne were the three major contributors to the performance.

Wine sales increased by 8.5% in value terms to almost 7.6bn, as volumes increased by 3.4% to around 153 million 12-bottle cases.
