The growth seen in January is due primarily to an increase in exports of Norwegian Salmon, comments Egil Ove Sundheim, director of market information with the Norwegian Seafood Council. Strong demand meant that Norwegian Salmon producers exported more salmon and at higher prices than in the same period last year. In addition, we have noted that lower prices for Norwegian Cod have resulted in increased export volumes for cod products.
