Research says Humulone in beer fights respiratory disorders

The researchers from Sapporo Medical University, Japan, have found that consuming beer protects from winter sniffles and some ailments commonly found in children.

Humulone, a chemical compound found in hops, which is used in beer making to give them bitter taste help in protecting against pneumonia and bronchitis in children.

The research pinpointed the chemical's healing benefit regarding respiratory syncytial (RS) virus, which causes pneumonia and breathing difficulties in infants.
