Sandy slows Florida fresh citrus sales

Florida fresh citrus shipments and sales to the industry's biggest domestic market will be slowed for a period as the Northeast tries to make its recovery from Hurricane Sandy.

Dan Richey, president of Riverfront Groves believes the impact will only be short term, but Philadelphia, Boston and New York make up 35 to 45% of Florida's total citrus sales domestically.
