FDA raids US nutrition firm over health claims

US authorities have seized dietary supplements and unapproved drugs from New York-based firm Confidence after company was found to be making unfounded health claims.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that the firm had claimed that its products could treat diseases such as brain atrophy, kidney dysfunction and gangrene. The agency had seized several Confidence dietary supplements including Dr Brain, pH Balance and Glucosamine Plus after finding the company had breached labelling and
