Mad cow quarantines eased at California dairy farms

As part of the evaluation, the FDA and the California Department of Food and Agriculture assessed feed records at the affected dairy and identified at least ten suppliers, and noted that all were in compliance with regulations.


In addition, tests conducted by the World Organization for Animal Health also confirmed what US labs had identified: the cow had a random mutation of the illness which was unlikely to affect other cows in the herd.
