Ambegaon district growers abandon fields as vegetable prices drop off

Cabbage and cauliflower growers in Ambegaon district have abandoned their plantations due to the price crash in the wholesale market in the last few days. The farmers said as they cannot afford the harvest costs or the expenses for transportation to the market. Some coriander growers had a tough time at the Chakan APMC market on Sunday and Monday, being forced to dump their produce due to lack of demand.
