Peru. The grower-shipper notes that Mexico is expanding its role in the organic banana category. The organic banana industry in Mexico has supplied more than seven million boxes of bananas to the U.S. in the past 12 months, they say. Mexico recently became the second-largest source of organic bananas to America, second to Ecuador. They add that with this rate of growth, Mexico could become the largest source of organic bananas for the U.S. in the coming years.
