Unexpected rainfall results in vegetable prices going up in Pune

It has been raining around Pune since last week. Cyclone Tauktae has managed to disrupt activities even more, in an area that was already disrupted by the pandemic. As a result of rain and heavy winds, Punes main market received less fruits and vegetables than usual. This resulted in the prices of vegetables going up by 25%. Onions and potatoes, along with leafy vegetables, saw a 15% rise in their price.
