McDonald's Beats Expectations in Asia-Pacific Region

China and Australia are coming through for McDonalds, theworld's largest restaurant chain, which said sales at stores openat least 13 months rose 3.7% in August.

Sales in the company's Asia Pacific, Africa and Middle Eastregion climbed 5.7% last month, Oak Brook, Illinois-basedMcDonalds said. Analysts had projected a gain of about four percent.
