Warburtons launch limited-edition beer made from surplus crumpets
date:Feb 28, 2020
UK bakery brand, Warburtons, has teamed up with brewer Toast Ale to launch a limited-edition beer brewed with leftover crumpets.

The beer, which is a first in the UK and marks the first non-bakery item launched in Warburtons 140-plus year history, transforms surplus crumpets into a Session IPA.

To make the light IPA, Toast Ale replaces some of the malted barley in the beer with crumpets that didnt make the cut, extracting starches and sugars and breaking them down into fermentable sugars.
