Biodegradable packaging made from banana waste

A method of transforming banana plantation waste into a biodegradable and recyclable packaging material has been developed.

Associate Professor Jayashree Arcot and Professor Martina Stenzel from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) were looking for ways to convert agricultural waste into something that could value add to the industry it came from while potentially solving problems for another.
