Vegetable prices rising after Typhoon Hagibis

Prices of vegetables like cabbages have started rising in Japan amid anticipated supply shortages due to fields and plastic greenhouses being flooded by Typhoon Hagibis in wide swaths of the country's east.

Cabbage prices were about 14% higher, at 91 yen (0.74) per kilogram, at Tokyo's Central Wholesale Market on Tuesday, compared with Saturday, when the 19th typhoon of the season made landfall in the country. Lettuce prices were about 8% higher, at 128 yen (1.02). Prices are rising in anticipa
