McDonald’s to trial plant-based burger in Canada

McDonalds is set to test its plant-based burger called Plant Lettuce Tomato (PLT) across 28 restaurants in Southwestern Ontario, Canada for 12 weeks.

Made using Beyond Meats plant-based patty, the PLT was created by McDonalds for its restaurant chain and will be available from 30 September.

McDonalds Global Menu Strategy vice-president Ann Wahlgren said: McDonalds has a proud legacy of fun, delicious and craveable food, and now were extending that to a test of a juicy, plant-based burger.
