Milk powder processing plant planned in Australia

Zong Qinghou, the chairman and CEO of the Chinese beverage firm Hangzhou Wahaha, is planning to set up A$200m ($207.65m) milk powder processing plant in Busselton, Australia.

Zong Qinghou met agriculture minister Terry Redman and also met officials of the City of Busselton over the plant, according to media reports.

A department spokeswoman said that one Chinese agro-enterprise was interested in dairy processing and potentially other products and consulted local contacts in the South West.
