Malaysia: Heineken and Carlsberg Beer Price Rise on April 1

Based on rising costs of raw materials and packaging, Malaysia's two major breweries will raise beer prices by about 3% to 12% from April 1.

It was the first time Heineken and Carlsberg beer companies raised beer prices after the government reintroduced sales and service taxes on September 1 last year.

In response to the letter from The Edge Financial Daily, the beer company disclosed that beer would rise, mainly due to the rising cost of raw materials and packaging.
