Taiwan farm products: Well-received in Japan

A Taiwanese delegations visit to a recent international food and beverage expo in Japan took home orders worth billions of Taiwan dollars. The group was led by led by the Council of Agriculture (COA) Minister Chen Chi-Chung. He witnessed the signing of two trade deals between Taiwanese and Japanese companies.

One of the documents was a contract for Wismettac Group of Japan to purchase 9,000 tons of bananas from Taiwan over a three year period worth NT$430 million (US$13.85 million).
