Israels area planted in citrus in MY 2018/19 is estimated at 17,843 hectares, 957 ha less than the planted area in MY 2017/18. The productive area is 17,000 ha, with the remaining 843 ha being young orchards, which have not yet reached maturity. The total area has decreased mainly due to uprooting easy peeler varieties that are less in demand.
