US meat company Sanderson Farms plans to establish a new chicken processing plant in Nash County, North Carolina, US. The plant would process about 50 million chickens annually, and create 1,100 jobs.
Sanderson Farms chairman and CEO Joe F. Sanderson Jr said the company has bought land on NC 97 to serve as a hatchery and has options to purchase property for a wastewater treatment facility.
Nash County owns the 142-acre tract, which will be used for the processing plant. The company, however, ha
