ables are non-starchy and are a good source of fibre, and the American Institute For Cancer Researchs review of the literature concluded that diets high in dietary fibre convincingly lower the risk of colorectal cancer; that diets high in non-starchy vegetables probably reduce the risk of cancers of the mouth, throat and voice box; and that diets high in foods containing carotenoids probably reduce the risk of lung cancer, as well as cancers of the mouth, throat and voice box.
