The Tripura government has planned to focus on marketing delicious and juicy oranges of the state. Furthermore, they see the orchards as a way of promoting tourism, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today after opening 6th Orange Festival at Killa of Gomati district.
The Chief Minister began the festival by plucking ripen oranges, distributing them among the people.
After this, Deb held a speech, stating that Tripura oranges had bagged 1st prize in the Delhi Food festival way back in 1980,
