Just one day before Thanksgiving, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a stern alert for people to throw away all types of romaine lettuce they have in their kitchen right now.

The food safety alert is due to an E. coli outbreak in 11 states linked to the lettuce thats infected at least 32 people and hospitalized 13, including one person who developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure. The CDC recommends people take the following steps:
