Judging beer, cider, mead and sake in the Artisanal Age

by appearances, if you want to be a beer judge it helps to be a white guy with a beard. But food critic and playwright Elizabeth Keyser was also sampling the spirits, and so was Katie Radawich of North Haven, Connecticut. The national beer judge likes cider, especially the Belgian styles, which she said were good for people who are gluten free. She calls the competition a showcase of the best in the industry.
