Government decides to increase quantity of sugar to be exported from India

The government, keeping in view the higher sugar production this year and a large carry over of the stocks from last year, has decided to increase the quantity of sugar to be exported from India.

Ram Vilas Paswan, food and public distribution minister, Government of India, stated that the government was eyeing the export of 50 lakh tonne sugar this year. It was 20 lakh tonne during the last fiscal.
