India to implement standard packaging regulation

The government after due examination of the issue amended the Legal Metrology Rules, 2011, Thomas added.
The new regulation will be applicable for 19 commodities including baby food, biscuits, weaning food, bread, butter, tea, coffee, cereals, pulses, milk powder, salt, edible oils, rice and wheat flour, aerated soft drink, drinking water, cement and paints.
