The majority of the world's population, up to 87 percent, do not consume enough fruits and vegetables, and their intake is characterised by a lack of variety and quality, according to a study which counted with the participation of more than 200 thousand people from 52 countries.

The Global Report on Phytonutrients, published in the British Nutrition Review in 2014, looked at fruit and vegetable intakes, quality and variety.
