Urgency needed to reform Australian food sector

The Senate Select Committee on Australias Food Processing Sector completed its year-long inquiry into challenges and pressures facing the sector and published its findings and recommendations on August 16.

Gary Dawson, chief executive of AFGC, welcomed thecomprehensivereport but notedthere is a real urgency for getting on with the job.

Theres no doubt that global demand for food is accelerating, the question is whether we have the right programs in place to ensure Australian food manufacturing
