The Odisha Government is lagging way behind its target to create more potato cold storage capacity in the state by 2017-18. As per the recommendations of the Task Force headed by the Agriculture Secretary, the State Government last year decided to construct 112 new cold stores of 5000 tonnes capacity each by 2017-18.
Sources in the Agriculture Department said 22 cold stores with a combined storage capacity of 95,800 tonnes are in different stages of construction in 13 districts.
Though the Sta
