Earlier this month Pilgrims Pride recalled more than 40,000 pounds of chicken nuggets because of similar consumer complaints. Those products were not sold at retail.
These items were shipped for institutional use nationwide. According to Pilgrims Pride Corp. records, schools have purchased products through the companys commercial channels, the FSIS reported regarding the 40,000-pound April 7 recall.
