Listeria spurs company to recall fresh, sliced apples

Listeria monocytogenes contamination discovered during internal testing by Fresh From Texas spurred the recall. The pathogen was found in two random samples of the same product.

The company contact listed in the recall notice did not respond Wednesday to a request for comment. It is not known if the facility that produced the recalled apple products is continuing to process and distribute other products.
