Listeria spurs company to recall fresh, sliced apples

Sliced fresh apples packaged alone and with other fresh-cut fruits and vegetables are under recall by the Fresh From Texas company because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The voluntary recall initiated Wednesday is for sliced apples sold by H-E-B grocery stores in Texas, according to a recall notice on the Food and Drug Administration website.

The company has ceased the production and distribution of the product as FDA and the company continue their investigation as to
