Whitby Seafoods has purchased Scottish trout producer Dawnfresh Seafoods frozen scampi business for an undisclosed amount.
Set up in 1985, Whitby Seafoods is a scampi processing firm with base in North Yorkshire.
Dawnfresh Seafoods' key division was scampi prior to 2004 when it acquired trout processor Silver Trout.
Whitby Seafoods, a private family business, claims to be one of the first firms to sell breaded scampi in the UK, reports foodmanufacture.co.uk.
With this purchase, Whitby Seafoo
