The dairy sector ranks first in terms of processed foods with several products namely dairy whitener, cheese, ice-cream, butter and clarified butter. The market is expected to grow at 15-20 percent over the next three years (Annual Report, Ministry of Food Procuring, GOI, 2003-04).
