As of October 4, 2013, the government has announced a grant of Rs 3,507 crore, as a part of the 12th Five Year Plan, to thrust the production of oilseeds. The proposed National Mission on Oilseeds and Oil Palm also includes acquiring an area of 12.5 lakh hectare to be used exclusively for oil palm plantations.
