MEXICO Mexico is offering food and safety programmes that have boosted consumer confidence and certainty, a US Department of Agriculture official has said.
US deputy under-secretary for food safety, Alfred Almanza, said global recognition for food standards extended to 56 countries, including: Japan, EU, Viet Nam, Angola, Nicaragua, Canada and Panama.
Targeted programmes to reduce toxic wastes and harmful bacteria like E.Coli, Listeria and Salmonella are in place, he added.
