SB 835 author Sen. Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo) responded with his own op-ed, arguing that preventative use can be judicious and that we cannot simply remove a tool that veterinarians use to uphold their oath to protect animal health and welfare.
The bill now heads back to the state Senate for approval of amendments.
