date:Jul 24, 2014
Vietnam's 5-percent broken rice rose more than 6 percent in the past week to $445-$460 a tonne, the highest in 21 months, due to loading demand for shipments to the Philippines and Malaysia and strong sales to China, traders said on Wednesday. The 25-percent broken rice grade also jumped, to $400-$420 a tonne, free-on-board basis, from $380-$390 a week ago, traders said.

The 5-percent broken grain being quoted at $460 a tonne is the highest since October 30, 2012, when the variety stood at $45
