Conclusion

With current average peel losses of 5-6% one must ask the question as to whether the industry and TOMRA can go much lower. If we look at the theoretical amount of peel on a potato we can assume its somewhere in the region on 2-3% depending on the potato size (there is much discussion and disagreement as to what the number is).
