Irish Grocery Sales Growing at Fastest Rate in Over a Year

Tesco was the only one of the big retailers to see a decrease in sales, which were down 3.4 per cent, however they still have the biggest market share at 26.1 per cent. Dunnes follows Tesco and SuperValu with 21.1 per cent market share and a sales increase of 0.5 per cent.

The discounters Aldi and Lidl are continuing to grow their market share and to increase their sales, which can largely be attributed to their existing customers spending more per shopping trip. Lidl's sales grew by 12
