Aflatoxin-tainted infant formula recalled in China

Chinese dairy processor Hunan Ava Dairy Co is recalling five batches of infant formula after a local government study found high levels of cancer-causing aflatoxins.

Officials in the south China city of Guangzhou found excessive amounts of the naturally-occurring toxin in five formula products manufactured between July 2011 and December 2011 under the brand Times Hui and Gold Times Hui.

Four of the products were manufactured by Ava Dairy Co, while the fifth was produced by Hunan Ava Dairy Ava
