Egypt domestic wheat purchases at 3.65 million tonnes

Egypt, the world's biggest wheat importer, has bought around 3.65 million tonnes of domestic wheat so far and will stop buying local supplies on June 20, the Supplies Ministry said on Sunday. Strategic wheat stocks are sufficient for the next six months, Supplies Minister Khaled Hanafi said in a statement.

Hanafi said earlier this month the total amount of wheat the government will purchase was expected to reach 3.8 or 3.9 million tonnes by the end of the current season. The previous governmen
