Soy-braised beef with pasta

soy sauce, sherry, sugar, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, star anise and orange rind in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 40 minutes or until liquid reduces by half.

2. Preheat oven to 150C. Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Cook one-quarter of the beef, turning, for 5 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a large, heavy-based ovenproof dish. Repeat, in 3 more batches, with remaining beef. Pour over stock mixture. Cover the surface with non-stick baking
