Non-EU sheep meat exports hit record high

With West Africa and the Far East the leading destinations, shipments to non-EU markets were up 53% on the same period last year at 5,430 tonnes.

Accounting for more than 75% of the UKs non-EU trade, Hong Kong is now the UKs second-largest sheep meat export destination, with only the French importing more. West Africa has become increasingly important for UK sheep meat exports, with Ghana now a large importer.
