Bay Cuisine recalls meat products in New Zealand over Listeria contamination

Bay Cuisine, which provides the food items to the hospital, issued a voluntary recall of certain salami, pepperoni and ham products. In addition, supermarkets that sell the company's products pulled the products from the shelves.
According to spokeswoman Anna Kirk, four patients at Hawke's Bay Hospital, which is located in Hastings, have been diagnosed with the foodborne illness. It is believed that the illness has led to two deaths.
