GIB to fund energy efficiency projects at Scottish distilleries

UK Green Investment Bank (GIB) will offer 5m in funding for energy efficiency projects at Scottish distilleries.

Aberfeldy distillery, owned by Bacardi, will be one among the distilleries to benefit from the funding. The move follows GIB's announcement of an investment at the Tomatin distillery in 2013.

The funding amount will be used in the installation of biomass boilers, to replace the existing, inefficient, heavy fuel oil boilers at the distilleries, which will lower energy costs and green
